The Squaire, Frankfurt, Germany

Up to 7,000 people work in the building's 'New Work City'. The floor space is used by offices, hotels, the gastronomy and retailers. The building's primary tenants are the audit firm KPMG, Lufthansa and two Hilton hotels. 

This building in the shape of a stylised train acts as the roof of the long-distance railway station at Frankfurt Airport. THE SQUAIRE is directly connected to Terminal 1 by a connecting passage. It is right by the A3 autobahn and is therefore one of the most accessible places in Germany.

  • It is one of the biggest orders placed in the history of the company. Caverion employed up to 1,000 workers in a three-shift system for a period of approx. 24 months.
  • As the project's technical general contractor, Caverion was responsible for the heating and cooling, sanitation, sprinklers, ventilation and air-conditioning technology, the electrics, and instrumentation and control engineering.
  • Numerous measures were incorporated to boost the building's energy efficiency, including highly efficient heat recovery, hybrid recooling systems and highly efficient turbo chillers. The building makes use of rainwater.
