Assemblin Caverion Norway strengthens its position in Northern Norway through the acquisition of Åge Nilsen

Assemblin Caverion Norway has acquired the plumbing company Åge Nilsen AS. The company has approximately 60 employees and annual net sales was of 170 million NOK in 2024. The acquisition complements Assemblin Caverion Norway’s existing business in Northern Norway in line with the Group’s growth strategy. 

Åge Nilsen has a head office in Tromsø and was established in 1957. The company specializes in large construction projects and has strong foothold within the defence and aquaculture markets.

“Under the Caverion brand, we already offer services in Tromsø and Harstad, and Åge Nilsen complements us with their focus on the project market. Together, we have a complete offering in a key region. Åge Nilsen has been on our wish list for several years as the largest and most well-established company in the area”, says Torkil Skancke Hansen, CEO of Assemblin Caverion Norway, EVP.

“We have built up strong expertise in large construction projects over many years, and we have been one of the largest plumbing contractor for defence construction in Northern Norway. We have also completed large projects within the aquaculture and healthcare industry, such as the hospitals in Narvik and Hammerfest, and are well equipped to support the development in defence and take on other large construction assignments in the years to come”, says Tor Torbergsen, CEO of Åge Nilsen AS.

The closing of the acquisition is subject to the approval by the Norwegian competition authority.
