Caverion to deliver heating and cooling systems to the expansion of the German Federal Chancellery in Berlin

Caverion has won a project to provide heating and cooling systems for the new building of the German Federal Chancellery in Berlin.

The expansion will be built next to the existing Federal Chancellery in compliance with the Bund 40 (EGB 40) energy efficiency building standard. Caverion will deliver state-of-the-art heating and cooling systems to support the building’s resource efficiency.
The new building will have a gross floor area of around 57,000 m² including among others 400 office rooms spread over six floors, a canteen, a day care center and an official residence.
"The expansion is designed by Schultes Frank Architekten, whose plans were also used to build the existing Federal Chancellery. Caverion was involved in the construction of the existing building in the 1990s and we are honoured to take part also in its expansion”, says Manfred Simmet, CEO of Caverion Germany, EVP.
