Board and management changes at Assemblin Caverion Group

Assemblin Caverion Group today announces a leadership transition marking the next phase in the Group’s development, reflecting the Group’s evolution from post-merger integration to continued profitable growth and long-term value creation. Effective today, Jacob Götzsche has been appointed Group CEO of Assemblin Caverion Group. He succeeds Mats Johansson, who will transition from the role of Group CEO and join the Board, where he will also chair the Board’s Large Contracts Committee.

In connection with the leadership transition, Philip Carlsson has been appointed Deputy Group CEO, while continuing in his role as Group CFO. Mikael Aro, Operating Partner at Triton, has been elected Chairman of the Board.

A natural next step following successful integration

Assemblin Caverion Group was formed on 1 April 2024 through the merger of Assemblin and Caverion, creating a leading northern European service and installation group with nearly 20,000 employees across nine countries. To ensure a well-managed and value-creating integration, the Group adopted a dual leadership model, with Mats Johansson as Group CEO and Jacob Götzsche as Executive Chairman of the Board.

The dual leadership model has delivered strong results, with the integration progressing faster and more successfully than originally planned. As the Group evolves to focus on scaling its platform and executing its long-term strategy, the leadership structure has evolved to support the next phase of profitable growth strategy.

Leadership appointments

Jacob Götzsche, currently Executive Chairman of the Board and formerly President and CEO of Caverion, will assume full executive responsibility as Group CEO and lead the Group’s operations across all countries. In connection with his appointment, he will step down from the Board.

Mats Johansson, who has served as CEO of Assemblin since 2018 and as Group CEO of Assemblin Caverion Group since the merger, will join the Board of Directors. In his new role, he will continue to contribute to the Group’s long-term strategic development and provide operational and industry expertise to the Board.

Philip Carlsson has been appointed Deputy Group CEO in addition to his role as Group CFO, taking on an expanded mandate to support strategic execution and value creation across the Group.

Mikael Aro, Operating Partner at Triton and a Board member since the merger, has been elected Chairman of the Board. No other changes to the Board are made.

“I am extremely proud of what we, together with all our colleagues, have accomplished over the past years. Leading the organisation first as Assemblin and then as Assemblin Caverion Group has been a defining part of my professional journey. Building Assemblin into the most profitable installation group in the Nordics and then combining it with Caverion to create a truly complementary northern European champion will forever be the highlight of my career. I look forward to continuing to support the Group from the Board”, commented Mats Johansson.

“I am honored to take on the role of Group CEO and proud of the development Mats and I have achieved together with the team over the past two years. Assemblin Caverion Group has a strong platform, clear strategy, and highly skilled colleagues across all markets. I am excited to lead the Group into its next phase and continue delivering on our commitments to customers, employees, and other stakeholders”, commented Jacob Götzsche.

“As the Group enters its next phase of profitable growth, this leadership transition represents a natural and well-prepared step that ensures continuity, stability, and clear accountability. On behalf of Triton and the Board, I would like to thank Mats for his outstanding leadership and results since 2018. We are pleased that Jacob will lead Assemblin Caverion Group as Group CEO and welcome Mats to the Board, where his experience and insight will continue to benefit the business”, commented Hans Petter Hjellestad, Investment Professional at Triton and Board member of Assemblin Caverion Group.
