Caverion Germany is installing the technical systems for ventilation, heating and cooling in the new Central Building II of the St. Georg Hospital in Leipzig. The customer Klinikum St. Georg gGmbH belongs to the Public Sector client segment. The contract value amounts to around EUR 13.6 million.
Central Building II will become the most modern hospital new build in the German state of Saxony. The building sets new benchmarks, particularly in terms of its technical building systems – especially with regard to energy‑efficient and sustainable operation. The customer is positive that Caverion will implement the project with professional expertise and reliability.
With a gross floor area of 39,000 square meters, the six‑story hospital building will house an emergency centre for children and adults, state-of-the-art laboratories and inpatient wards.
“We are able to bring our extensive experience in delivering technical building systems for complex hospital projects to this construction site - be it technical know-how, logistics for large construction sites or the necessary workforce”, says Manfred Simmet, CEO of Caverion Germany.
To ensure optimal indoor climate conditions, Caverion experts will install eleven ventilation systems with a total capacity of 100,000 m³/h as well as 76 recirculating cooling units. Caverion is also responsible for the complete heating and cooling distribution in the new building.
The work by Caverion is scheduled to continue until the end of 2028.
